Whoever is permitted to break the fast during Ramadan must pay atonement
The answer is:
- An elderly person who is unable to fast
- The sick person is not satisfied with his recovery from it.
If a person is forced to break his fast during the month of Ramadan, then he must pay the penance.
A person must pay the equivalent of 2 kg of food to the poor, Bidun, or other needy people.
It is important to note that if a person has a legitimate excuse for breaking their fast, they do not have to pay penance.
For example, if someone is sick and has to take medicine during the day in Ramadan, they don't have to pay kaffarah.
Therefore, we all must be aware of the rules of fasting and be able to fast, otherwise we will have to pay the Kaffarah.
