The first attempt to recover Riyadh in 1317 AH to 1319 AH by King Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman bin Faisal Al Saud represents an important step in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah set out with the head of a huge army to restore the usurped rights, wanting to raise the word of truth over the word of injustice.
Although this attempt failed at the time, it paved the way for the recovery of the capital, Jeddah, as a prelude to the seizure of other parts of the Arabian Peninsula.
