Mention evidence of the virtue of sparing ablution?
The answer is: Expiation of bad deeds and raising grades.
Evidence of the virtue of ablution is from the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace). He said: Shall I not tell you what God erases sins and raises ranks? Then he continued: “He is unable to perform ablution despite the difficulties.” This hadith indicates that ablution, despite difficulties, leads to forgiveness and raised status in the eyes of God. Moreover, God has promised a great reward to whoever performs ablution and strives for it. He said: “And God has favored the mujahideen over those sitting with a great reward [95] degrees.” This indicates that believers who strive in the path of God will receive a great reward for ablution and other acts of worship. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Ablution is one of the expiations for sins, and prayer is not valid without it.” This hadith is evidence of the necessity of ablution for the validity of prayer and the expiation of sins. Thus it becomes clear that the virtue of ablution is great and it is a very rewarding act of worship.
The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Shall I not tell you what God erases sins with?” One of the virtues of perfecting ablution in the face of adversity is the erasure of sins, which is evidence of the forgiveness of sins, as well as raising and promoting ranks in Paradise, God Almighty willing. This is supported by the words of God in the Qur’an: “And God has favored the mujahideen over those who sit with a great reward [95] degrees.” Therefore, it is clear that ablution is a virtue and has a reward from God Almighty. Not only does it expiate sins, but it also raises the individual’s status in Paradise, and God will reward him greatly. Therefore, it is necessary and highly recommended to perform ablution whenever possible.
Evidence of the virtue of ablution is found in Qur’anic verses and the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace). The Qur’an says: “And God has favored the mujahideen over those who sit with a great reward [95] degrees.” (Qur’an 95:4-5) This verse highlights the great reward that awaits those who strive in the path of God.
Also, the hadith of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, highlights the virtue of ablution. He said: Shall I not tell you what God erases sins with? Fear your ablution, even if it is difficult.” (Narrated by Al-Bukhari). This hadith indicates the ability of ablution to erase sins and raise one’s rank in Paradise.
Then Imam Muslim, Ahmad, Al-Nasa’i and Al-Tirmidhi narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: (Indeed, ablution is atonement for wrongdoing). It is clearly stated in this hadith that ablution is one of the means of expiation for sins.
In conclusion, these verses and hadiths provide evidence of the virtue of ablution. Ablution erases sins and raises the status of Paradise, in addition to being a means of expiation for sins. That is why it is important to spare no effort in performing it.
